Some of my favourite posts are the ones I’ve written to advertise other businesses. Why? Because I put a lot of work into making sure they’re awesome.
I’m sure you understand – my readers are my consumers and I want to keep them happy. They aren’t interested in reading ad copy that’s been cut and paste from another product website, and I don’t want to drive my readers away by sending them those kinds of posts. Instead, I put my heart and soul into sponsored posts because I want my readers to enjoy every last word. When they see “Sponsored Post” on my blog, I want them to say, “Oh…. this is going to be good!”
Like this post that I wrote for RBC Avion. It’s great. What mom can’t relate to the lasagne-like quality of old french fries and stale crackers in the back seat of a car? What mom isn’t be dreaming of the Avion Holiday Boutique by the time the post is finished?
Or how about this post that I wrote for a Hamilton coffee company? This one wasn’t paid; I did it solely as a public service for my fellow mankind, because everyone needs to know about coffee that’s delivered weekly by bike. In mason jars. Seriously, it’s the hipster dream come true. Coffeecology loved it so much that they paid to promote the link on Facebook.
There’s also this review post I did for the Emeibaby baby carrier. It’s one of my most popular posts, even years later. It still makes me laugh every time I read it. My daughter hated to be worn in baby carriers and most of my review is woven through the narrative of her punching me in the kidneys.
Are you interested in working with me? Let’s chat and see if my blog is a good match for your product! I tend to write about simplifying life, homeschooling my kids, getting outdoors, and making awesome things – but that doesn’t mean I’m limited to those topics. If you think that I could help you out, be in touch and we can work out a campaign together.
What kind of work can I do for you? Here are some ideas that we can start with:
- put ads for your product on the blog
- sponsor a post or a series
- sponsor tweets and/or Facebook posts
- send product for giveaways or reviews (minimum value of $75)
- freelance writing or ghost writing for your own project
